EBGC Ltd was founded in 2011 by George Merodoulakis, with the objective to help operators and investors to explore the possibilities offered by the regulation of several gaming markets in the wider SE European region.  

In 2015, and in an effort for EBGC Ltd to provide its services to a wider audience, Matt Steer joined the company with the remit to support its development in the UK and Western Europe. 

Today this dynamic team of highly skilled and results-driven professionals stands out for its in-depth knowledge of the gaming and betting industry, its network of affiliate businesses and people, as well as the thorough understanding of the European, regional, and local regulatory and legislative landscapes.

More recently, there have been a couple of very valuable additions to the team in Alfred Bashllari and George Kaketsis, both with extended experience in the gaming industry and their respective fields.


George Merodoulakis, an executive with ample exposure in business strategy, strategic and operational marketing as well as operations, across several European and Overseas markets (Americas). Already counts his second decade in the online betting and gaming industry.

His career in gaming started in 2000 when he joined Eurobet.com as Head of Market/Marketing Development. Eurobet had just been acquired by Coral, one of the most reputable bookmakers in the UK. In 2006, he became the International Business Director of the newly formed Group when Coral Eurobet merged with Gala. In 2008, alongside his International duties (online and bricks and mortar) for the Group, he was ‘drafted’ to manage the Eurobet.com P&L as a brand within the Remote Gambling Division, which he did until late 2010 when he decided to leave the Gala Coral Group and establish EBGC Ltd (2011).

In late 2016, having received the invitation of the new OPAP CEO, he joined the Greek ex-state monopoly with the remit to lead the relaunch of their digital platforms with Pame Stoixima and Tzoker online. His next major project/ challenge, which is still ongoing, has been the “digitalization” of a major European land based casino brand (the Balkans and SE Europe)

His extensive corporate professional experience includes total P&L responsibility within matrixed and smaller organizations, management of significant A&P budgets, product development and portfolio management, as well as people management within small and ‘big business’ cultures across a range of industries and International territories.

Dr Alfred Bashllari is a special advisor with 15 years’ experience in the gaming and sports betting industry. More recently he has worked as a Lead Business Analyst at Betgenius; before that as Product Manager for Sports Betting at Scientific Games and as Head of Business Analysis for OPAP. He has been involved in many aspects of development in the Gaming industry such as Delivery for Retail and Online Gaming Platforms, Retail and Online Operations, M&A Assessment, Risk Management, Product Innovation, Predictive Analysis, Client Profiling and Price Modelling.

George Kaketsis, has a degree in Law from City University of London and a Masters Degree LLM in International Commercial Law at the University of Sussex, He was admitted to the Athens Bar in 2001. He is fluent in Greek, English and French. His interest for business matters led him to focus his legal practice in the areas of Commercial and Corporate Law by representing companies in the area of sports marketing, sponsorship, TV rights, TV Productions and managing athletes. For the past 8 years his practice has mainly focussed on giving advice and assistance to corporations in the gaming sector within the Greek territory, to the Greek Gaming Commission (E.E.E.Π) and the National Court.

Matt Steer, with keen analytical abilities he delivers well thought-out, well-structured and most importantly profitable solutions. With over twenty years of experience in digital media, ecommerce and online gaming, he has covered both agency-side and client-side projects. He is one of the Europe’s leading experts in free to play (FTP) games for acquisition and retention, and their crossover impact into sports betting. In 2012 he was responsible for the development of a mobile betting product, website user experience and digital marketing strategy for Coral.co.uk. In 2018 he was appointed CEO of i-pools, a B2B provider of acquisition and retention gaming products, and has launched white label services in UK and Peru.

George being the founder of EBGC Ltd, with the addition of this select team of experienced executives and a network of associates and partners around the world, has established and leads a dynamic group of professionals
that knows the ‘whos’, ‘whats’, ‘whens’ and ‘hows’ of the betting and gaming industry.
